Message from the 2011 ACNM President

Alan Stott, James Hamilton Construction Co.

D’Auna F. Wood – FNF Construction, Inc.2011 brings change and exciting opportunities for the Associated Contractors of New Mexico (ACNM) and the  prime contractors, subcontractors, specialty contractors, suppliers, professional service firms, and their employees whom ACNM represents.

The AGC was created in 1918 and ACNM was formed in 1925. The AGC was established in recognition of the construction industry's national importance and President Woodrow Wilson's desire to have a partner with which the government could discuss and plan for the advancement of the nation.

Through the efforts of many dedicated individuals, over the last several years ACNM has positioned itself well to have a voice and be a better partner with governmental agencies and legislators. The change in the political and department leadership creates a great opportunity for ACNM to partner with those leaders in efforts that will help advance and improve sustained investments in New Mexico and our communities.

Your involvementin ACNM and with the various committees will continue to strengthen our partnerships and improve ACNM's abilities to promote the Skill, Integrity, and Responsibility of its members and their employees. We appreciate those who have been involved and strengthened ACNM. The association and its members are only as good as individuals who actively participate in strengthening the committees and supporting the association. We ask that all who are able become involved in the association during this pivotal year.

The last eight years has been good to our industry in New Mexico with GRIP and the stimulus funds. As we may face challenges going forward, it is a great opportunity for us to refocus on the foundational principles that have made this industry great and promote these principles in our efforts to advance New Mexico and our Nation. With an open and committed new administration, we look forward to a year of change and opportunities.
